The slugs returned here are the values accepted by the categories, regions and storylines filters of techcrunch/articles/search.
Browse the TechCrunch taxonomy catalogue. taxonomy=categories returns the site sections (AI, Apps, Fintech, Security, Startups, Venture...), taxonomy=tc_region the geographic regions (hierarchical: continent then country) and taxonomy=tc_storyline_tax the editorial storyline collections such as live-blog series. Set count for how many terms to return, keyword to match a name, parent to walk the region hierarchy and hide_empty=true to drop unused terms. Feed alias into the categories/regions/storylines filters of techcrunch/articles/search. Topic tags live in techcrunch/tags/search. content_count counts every TechCrunch item carrying the term, including Startup Battlefield company profiles and live-blog updates, so it can exceed the number of articles that search returns.
