Get one cloud instance type with its specs, benchmarks and per-region pricing

## How to use it

Look up a single instance type by the identifier the cloud provider uses, together with the catalogue it belongs to — the same type string can exist in more than one catalogue. Pricing arrives as one entry per region, each holding the priced platforms (operating system for EC2, Azure and GCP; database engine for RDS; cache engine for ElastiCache) with on-demand, spot and reserved-term rates in USD per hour. The `prices` map holds only USD/hour rates; a separate `percentages` map on the same price set carries spot-related percentage figures (savings off on-demand, interrupt rate) that are not currency and must not be read as dollars. Pass `regions` to keep the answer small: a busy EC2 type carries every region it is sold in and that is the bulk of the response. Retired and previous-generation types keep their own page here and resolve the same as current-generation ones.

## Parameters

- `timeout` (integer) — Max scrapping execution timeout (in seconds) (default: 300; min: 20; max: 1500)
- `catalog` (string, required) — Which cloud catalogue the instance type belongs to (one of: "aws_ec2", "aws_rds", "aws_elasticache", "aws_redshift", "aws_opensearch", "azure_vm", "gcp_compute")
- `instance_type` (string, required) — Instance type identifier as the provider spells it (examples: "a1.2xlarge", "db.m5.large", "cache.t4g.micro", "ra3.large", "d16as-v6", "e2-micro"; minLength: 1)
- `regions` (array) — Region codes to keep in the pricing block, in the provider's own spelling (AWS 'us-east-1', GCP 'us-central1', Azure 'east-us'). Leave empty for every region the type is sold in (default: []; examples: ["us-east-1"], ["us-east-1","eu-west-1"], [])

## Errors

### 422 — Validation Error

The request body did not validate

What to do: Check the fields against this schema. A URN with the wrong prefix is the most common cause.

### 408

The request ran past its time limit

What to do: Raise `timeout` in the request body, up to the maximum this endpoint documents. Lowering `count` or turning off the `with_*` flags also helps, because less work finishes sooner.

### 412

No such instance type in that catalogue

What to do: Retrying will not help: either the entity does not exist, or the input points at a different one.

### 429

Too many requests: a rate limit or a usage window is exhausted

What to do: When the response carries an X-Retry-After header, wait that many seconds and retry: the same number is in the body as `detail.retry_after`, and the limit clears once that window passes. The message in the body names the limit that was hit.

### 500

Something broke on our side

What to do: Retrying will not help. If it keeps happening, send us the X-Request-ID from the response headers.

### 529

Rate limit reached, or the endpoint is overloaded

What to do: Wait at least 30 seconds, then retry.

## Response envelope

Success: Array of objects (may be empty if no results)

Error: Error may coexist with partial results if it occurs mid-execution. Check X-Error header and status code.

Every response carries these headers:

- `X-Error` — Error message text (present only on error)
- `X-Request-ID` — Unique request identifier
- `X-Execution-Time` — Execution time in seconds
- `X-Result-Count` — How many records the body carries. 0 means an empty result, which is a normal answer and not by itself an error. A non-zero count can come back together with X-Error when the failure happened partway through — read this header and X-Error independently.
- `X-Total-Available-Results` — How many records exist for this query, when the endpoint can say. On a `dry_run` request this is the answer and the body is empty. It saturates: the endpoint's documented maximum means 'at least that many', any smaller number is exact.
- `X-Warning` — Present when the request body carried keys this endpoint does not document. They were ignored, so any filter you meant to apply through them did not apply. Check the spelling against this schema and retry.
- `X-Retry-After` — Seconds to wait before retrying. Present only on 429.
